Social Value: Career and Transition Skills Support

Social Value Support Offer

As highlighted in last weeks About Towns newsletter, in addition to supporting towns in the development of TIPs and Business Cases, the Towns Fund Delivery Partner are committed to delivering activities designed to create social value across the 101 Towns. The first activity we are rolling out in this wider programme is Career and Transition Skills support.

What do we mean by ‘Career and Transition Skills support’?

We know this is a difficult time for many, with lockdown, furlough and redundancy leading to a number of people facing careers changes, and younger people leaving school and college struggling to find work. We are offering our staff to support an organisation that has an initiative or event related to these topics. This could range from providing career advice and reviewing CVs, hosting career fairs, or conducting mock interviews. We know how important these can be for those looking to start their career, or find a new one, and our staff are eager to support in any way they can.

Towns are invited to identify initiatives or events that they believe could use our support, and put our Social Value Coordinators in touch with local organisers (e.g. schools, colleges, training hubs). If you’re interested and want to find out more, please contact your Town Coordinator who will put you in touch with our Social Value Coordinators.

We are rolling out other support through our Social Value Programme over the course of the Towns Fund programme, so stay tuned for further details.
